In revitalizing a 1963 Rambler Ranch, the homeowners aimed to modernize the dreary kitchen while preserving its timeless charm. Opening the space by removing a 20-foot wall seamlessly connected the kitchen to the fireplace room and dining area. The addition of ambient, task, and indirect lighting brought the space to life. A blend of modern elements, like a quartz backsplash free from outlets, coexists with the warmth of natural walnut, while a hidden basement door adds a playful touch to the overall transformation.
