The client wanted to remodel their kitchen and incorporate the family room and sunroom into the design. This required knocking down a load bearing wall. To give them what they wanted, major structural changes to the foundation were made. The existing structure was supported by columns because it used to be an outside open porch. They also wanted a full basement to create more space, and make the floor of the finished living space warmer. The result provides the clients valuable living space, without adding square footage. The new open concept allows them to entertain a lot more and features a nice long island.
