The staircase acts as the focal point of the foyer. Its modern construction allows the entry space to retain its open feel because the structure is minimally obtrusive. Thick, wooden treads float off a single metal riser to give the staircase a light feel. Metal cables are used in the railing to provide a less confining experience. The dichotomy between the metal of the staircase structure and the reclaimed wood of the hallway above amplifies the textural components between the two.
