A family of four with two growing boys loved their location in a quaint historic neighborhood but they were no longer in love with their home. A choppy floor plan, small rooms, little privacy and no entertaining space led them to remodel their home. Extending the footprint wasn't an option due to Historic District Council regulations. Creating a new open concept first floor plan, adding a 500 square foot second story addition with bedrooms and a bathroom, and updating existing spaces, complied with the strict HDC guidelines while achieving the homeowners’ goals.
