Cambridge, Massachusetts
2014 National CotY Award Winner, Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration
This home was originally built in the 1890s, and the current homeowners understood the importance of maintaining the historical integrity during the renovation process. JW Construction carefully documented the existing mouldings, casings, trims and millwork to ensure the detailing matched the style, staying true to the Queen Anne style of the home. The original staircase was moved from the center of the house to the rear, where the floating staircase is now a focal point, running from the basement to the third-floor living space.
