The purpose of this remodel was to obtain accreditation for a neurosurgery office to meet the new codes of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare. Separate patient corridors were created to limit traffic into sterile corridors. Heat-welded flooring with cove base was installed to create a sterile substrate. HVAC was altered to incorporate positive air pressure. An acoustical tile grid was converted to drywall ceiling. The entire facility was fire-rated. A portion of the existing lobby was built out into an additional exam room. Timing was key when shutting down mechanicals to ensure the facility was functional within their patient schedule.
