2017 Region 1 Northeast CotY Award Winner, Commercial Interior
This cash checking store was originally a shell interior, concrete floors, walls and ceiling. To transform the space, the floors were elevated four inches to meet ADA requirements. Working around the parking garage above and below the store was a unique challenge. Installing the plumbing pipes below and the HVAC above required core drilling through 14 inches of concrete slabs. In the space, ballistic glass, security mesh and steel teller walls were installed. Upon completion of the store an ADA issue arose. The queue lines in the finished lobby/customer area had to be relocated, which meant completely removing the queue rail, repositioning and reinstalling the rail, and then carefully cutting out and replacing the tiles that had the rail mount attached to them.
