Anyone with a major disability would desire as much bathing independence and comfort as possible. Such was the desire of our client. As an amputee, he needed a major master bath remodel to achieve these goals. The design also had to accommodate the spouse’s desires and unique bathing needs so both could use the room simultaneously—and with style. With very few structural changes, a great difference was made to the space. Removing the existing wall between the tub and toilet allowed for the creation of a new tub deck and seating corner. The new space includes strategically placed grab bars as well.
