2017 Region 3 North Central CotY Award Winner, Basement Under $50,000
The homeowner wanted the lower level transformed from a storage area into an industrial-themed finished basement. To set the tone, the concrete floors were stained and the exposed ceiling joists and mechanicals were painted black. Brick and reclaimed pallet feature walls and industrial barn doors add texture to the space. As an added bonus, the space beneath the stairs was converted into a kids playroom complete with hidden door in the pallet wall. In the bathroom, a copper vessel sink was placed on a metal stool and galvanized piping was used for the bath accessories.
