2022 National/Regional CotY Award Winner, Universal Design - Bath
Mom and dad needed to convert a main floor dining room into a mobility access bathroom that was adjacent to their daughter’s bedroom. She loves to play in the bath, so a charming and waterproof “wet room” was created where she could splash to her heart’s content. Like most pre-teens, she can be rough on household fixtures, so the bathroom was thoroughly child-proofed. The new design satisfied their desire for a space that didn’t look like a hospital and drew inspiration from the family’s love of the seashore. This is a bath where they can teach their daughter life skills for independence.
