2019 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Kitchen $100,001 to $150,000
The couple who live in this 1930s home respected its original architecture but wanted a more modern space to cook and entertain with ease and a design that reflected the beautiful natural surroundings. After thoughtful architectural planning, structural changes dramatically opened the space encompassing the kitchen, dining and living areas into one unified expanse while retaining the integrity of the home’s existing design. The original wood ceilings are now even more striking in the open layout. The island is a strong focal point with horizontal porcelain tile in subtle gray and a gleaming white countertop. Exotic wood floors underscore the emphasis on natural materials and light throughout the home.
