2019 National CotY Award Winner, Residential Kitchen $100,001 to $150,000
This Craftsman home needed a kitchen update that maximized storage while maintaining the historic character of the era. A 1990s remodel left the kitchen feeling disconnected from the rest of the house, lacked closed storage and a workable layout. New inset white oak cabinets provide storage while complementing the existing woodwork of the home. Soapstone counters, handmade tile and an apron sink provide functionality and enhance the period look of the space. Varied counter heights provide flexibility and meet the ergonomic needs of these tall homeowners. Raised Marmoleum floors were replaced with oak. The final product is a well laid out space that ties seamlessly into the rest of the home.
