Preserving the vintage charm of this 1927 Mediterranean-style kitchen was essential to this kitchen update. We created an open floor plan by removing the wall between the kitchen and family room, added continuous counter space between relocated appliances, and moved the dining room entry to provide a butler’s pantry. We repurposed storage space under the stairs for a walk-in pantry with counter space nearby. The ceiling was restored to the original height. Plus, we created the illusion of a freestanding bistro table by cutting into the quartz countertop at the butler’s pantry.
