2021 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Interior Under $100,000
When two competing desires collide, the result can be magic. She wanted a piano room; he wanted a library to house his large book collection in a single space. By getting creative with existing square footage, both needs were met resulting in a new library fit for a president. The re-designed library is optimized for book storage, reading, and preparing lectures. Floor-to-ceiling bookcases flank each interior wall. The new millwork is made of stained walnut, with a traditional design that fits the rest of the home. An antique chandelier adds to the ambient light in the room and hand-made library ladders make the highest bookcase shelves accessible.
