This space had served as a mechanical room and garden room/workshop. The laundry was being converted to a home office, so the clients wanted to turn the mechanical room into a delux laundry area. Challenges included leveling the uneven concrete floors, adding plumbing drainlines, and working around the exterior and interior block walls. The new laundry features steel-reinforced bookcase doors that conceal the furnace; a washer and dryer enclosure; three hamper drawers; a pull-out cabinet for laundry supplies; and a dog wash. Architectural elements include seven-layer crown detail, wainscotting, quartz counters with waterfall details, and a leaded glass transom. This laundry now makes a common chore more pleasant and easier to manage.
