Howell, Michigan
2017 Region 4 East Central CotY Award Winner, Residential Interior Under $75,000
As a result of multiple additions over the years, this 1800s farmhouse had a narrow interior room where roof lines came together. At one point the room was used as an entryway but otherwise had no real function. The clients wished to re-purpose this room into a quiet place to relax and enjoy their extensive book collection. As an added bonus, part of the original space was turned into a walk-in pantry. A French door now separates the library from the rest of the house. Oak paneling and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves cover the walls, while a plush carpet keeps noise levels to a minimum.
