These homeowners loved the idea of owning an early 20th century home, but the charm quickly faded when they realized there was no functionality partnered with the original charm. By adding a modest 113 square foot addition, reconfiguring the existing space, and upgrading finishes that still pay tribute to 20th century design, this house has been restored to feel like a perfect blend between 1910 and 2021. Using space alongside the house allowed for an extended bathroom and walk-in closet in the primary suite without taking away from the remaining rooms, while removing load bearing walls provided the homeowners a more open space.
