2017 Region 1 Northeast CotY Award Winner, Residential Historical Renovation/ Restoration Under $250,000

This unusual structure has a bay that extends into the main building and is capped by a multifaceted cupola above the roofline. A fallen tree accelerated the need to fix the failing structural elements. While demoing parts of the existing structure, outlines of the original panel and trim were exposed. Original ceiling ribs and bead-board were supported in place while all of the structure was rebuilt. Structure support  and insulation was added where needed that exceeds code requirements. Existing finishes were duplicated by coordinating with the historic commission to create appropriate solutions. The finished project includes new Queen Anne windows, new interior and exterior millwork, restored stained glass windows, a traditional soldered copper roof and custom wrought iron brackets.
