2022 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Detached Structure
This project turned a free-standing carriage house into an entertaining space and guest house. The century-old structure was renovated to bring modern utilities to the carriage house. The existing structure had many features that were saved. By using innovative energy systems to insulate and ventilate, the structure, the exposed collar ties and beam construction were kept while providing climate comfort year-round. The details for this project were beautifully executed to accentuate the new design and to allow for a modern feel while mixing in a rustic, authentic look that honors the original carriage house.
