2019 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Detached Structure
This detached garage structure and outdoor living space provide a peaceful retreat and add functionality. Architectural details on the garage accentuate the existing house details while adding charm to the property. A combination of salvaged materials and new were incorporated into the finishes. These include copper flashings, gutters, and downspouts and natural gas lanterns on the exterior, and reclaimed barn wood accents on the interior. The garage includes storage, space for one car, a potting area and a sitting area on the second level. The stone and cedar pergola bordered with a natural arborvitae screen wall connect the new garage to the existing rear courtyard, providing a private getaway from surrounding neighbors.
