Freeport, New York
2017 Region 1 Northeast CotY Award Winner, Residential Exterior Over $200,000
This 1900 square-foot home, which was elevated to remove it from a flood zone, included unique obstacles. The homeowner wanted to keep his existing landscaping, so four trees were relocated, and the HVAC had to blend in with the background. The house's exterior had been previously redone in cultured stone. To blend the old stone with the new, the stone was broken back in different patterns. A new, 800 square-foot composite deck with cable rails, a bar and a 12-foot-wide staircase was built 11 feet in the air for a treehouse effect.
