2017 NATIONAL CotY Award Winner, Residential Bath Under $25,000
The clients wanted to remodel the second-floor bathroom of their home, built in 1926. Challenges encountered included low ceiling heights and a plastered masonry chimney in the bathroom space. An enlarged tub and additional storage for their daughters was added by acquiring space from the linen closet at the back side of tub. The closet shelving was then rebuilt and reconfigured to fit the new space. A full vanity with a stone top and large sink replaced the original wall sink. To overcome the plastered walls, shiplap was installed to enhanced the overall modern look. Brick tile was installed over the chimney area to turn a challenge into a focal point.
