This large, 1950s cottage had been vacant for 15 years. The new layout is very similar to the original. Existing wood floors were refinished, sanded and painted the existing; the front door relocated to create a designated entryway and living room; and new windows installed to complement the updated room layouts and allow for more natural light to filter in. The overall space feels minimal yet collected and incorporates some bold elements to draw out the house’s unique characteristics, including patterned carpet, a painted accent ceiling, and an entry room that leads into the primary suite.
