2020 Regional CotY Award Winner, Entire House Over $1,000,000
This home, purported to be the first concrete earth dwelling in Austin, sits at the apex of the Hill of Life, tucked into the hillside. An unassuming brick box from the street, the original project was sited to take advantage of the sweeping views of the Barton Creek Green Belt. Other goals were to bring in more natural light into the home, modernize the interior and create a museum like setting for the beautiful art collection. Features include a double-sided fireplace with a floating hearth and mantel and vibrant Oceanside Glass tile; and a hand-carved freestanding tub made from a single block of silver travertine.
