2019 Regional CotY Award Winner, Basement Over $100,000
This Dutch farmhouse needed a basement that fit the era of the home while providing additional living space. After experiencing flooding and water damage, the clients wanted low-maintenance finishes that would withstand future damage. The former basement was a warren of small, unusable rooms and dark materials. Eliminating unnecessary walls created an open and inviting space. Finishes include stained concrete floors, recessed lights and ceiling mount fixtures, black metal hardware, rustic wood doors and white paint throughout. The updated finishes, new egress windows and ample lighting create a bright and cheerful space for the clients and their guests.
