2019 Regional CotY Award Winner, Residential Kitchen Over $150,000
To transform this pocket-sized kitchen into a family gathering space, the homeowners had to get creative, using the existing kitchen, dining area and enclosed porch. The process was further complicated as the home required a historic review due to its age and location. The key to designing a modern kitchen in a historic home is seamlessly blending period specific elements such as subway tiles and reclaimed wood to maintain the room’s charm without compromising modern conveniences. The new kitchen includes a granite topped island, dining banquette, stainless steel appliances and white cabinetry. Now it is a perfect place for the family to eat a cozy meal or host friends for dinner.
