2016 Region 5 South Central CotY Award Winner, Residential Kitchen Under $30,000
Time meant money for this investor client, who had tenants arriving within a month of the construction start. The refrigerator blocked the entrance and view of the kitchen. A previous room addition for the washer and dryer was at a different floor elevation. Pier and beam foundation issues caused the floor to sink. In addition, the majority of mortar on the wall behind the sink was missing, which caused floor, insulation and structural damage. The range wall had its own issues as there was no microwave, a barely functioning stove and no cabinets for storage.
