2016 Region 1 Northeast CotY Award Winner, Residential Kitchen $60,001 to $100,000
Transforming this 1900s period kitchen was a tremendous challenge, which had a low ceiling and a poor work-space. To create headroom, we restructured and vaulted the wall and ceiling. We also incorporated the homeowners' vintage replica wood-burning range and stand-alone double sink and made them focal points with a built-out white tile backsplash. Pendants, recessed ceiling fixtures and LED lighting, all on dimmers, created numerous layers of lighting. The new configuration now allows for multiple people to work, eat and enjoy the kitchen.
