Maintaining the original architectural integrity and historic value of this 1920s Spanish Revival landmark while bringing it up to and even beyond today’s energy standards were the owners’ goals. Decades of weather and water damage had caused the 90-year-old building, designed by famed architect Arthur E. Harvey, to fall into disrepair. Many unique and timeless architectural features were restored, including original handmade tiles; long-forgotten painted ceilings on burlap canvas; classic cast iron light fixtures; and, the original door and window hardware. The end result is a beautiful home that will last for at least another century.
