The client felt there was something missing from his mid-1960s ranch home. He desired a front porch that would add street appeal and identity to the home and a rear porch for better entertaining. The plan for the porches incorporated 45-degree angles to the main structure to maintain an open feeling and add a more contemporary aesthetic. The front porch defines the entry, while the rear porch allows for indoor-outdoor entertaining. All landscaping, walks, hardscapes and lawn areas were replaced and an entry walk ramp was added as well.
